The distinct design of the Avid SAAGO stem takes 1 1/8 threadless stems to the next level by employing a new clamping system. The stem is primarily for XC riders since it's ideal for carbon fiber steer tubes. The SAAGO clamps evenly around and on top of the steer tube so the clamping force is evenly distributed, meaning less stress on the fork.

Avid sought to design a new stem that was unique. The system works similarly to a chuck and drill bit where the "bit" is the steer tube and the "chuck" tightens all around the bit. The 218-gram stem comes in 100mm, 110mm and 120mm with a choice of zero or 10 degrees of rise.



Remember, there are no clamp bolts on the side of the stem to bite your knees and the handlebar clamp has a removable faceplate for quick and easy handlebar swapping.--Justin Kosman
