A few days ago I left Hanmer Springs and returned to my hometown via the Rainbow Valley.

This road goes through a lot of very isolated but beautiful countryside.  Even in summer you can sometimes see snow on the mountains here.

Every year there is a big mountain bike ride/race here called the 'Rainbow Rage'.  The distance of the race is 109km.

The day started a little cold and cloudy, with some light rain too, but it became fine and sunny after about one hour.  This summer's weather has been perfect for cycling.
