Crestone Peak - SAS Comp 202

A mid 90's American designed (I think) full susp. mountain bike which used rubber elastomers (2 front/1 rear) to achieve its suspension travel/ damping effect. The rear triangle pivots at the bottom bracket, rear dropouts and at the top-tube/seat tube junction.

This bike is still intact and fully operational though I would not trust its suspension rubbers on any serious rough stuff. The saddle and pedals are recent additions from stuff I had lying around.

For the era, this was one of the longest travel bikes available with a claimed 4.5" front suspension travel and 3" or rear travel.  The suspension was provided by three large rubber bands, one rear and 2 front.  Unfortunately, the band are missing on this one and we haven't been able to source replacements.  If anyone has a source, please let us know.  Check out the roller on the back of the seat tube to help locate the rear suspension as it moves through its travel.   Several models were available with this one being the most entry level version.
