The 2007 model is very different than the 2006 model as it has had some major improvements made to it. First and foremost the rear now has a 12mm thruaxle with 135mm spacing. This made the rear end much stiffer and safer. Another major improvement is the rear floating brake assembly known as D.O.P.E. Dope has been developed by Kona and Brake Therapy. It is an improved floating brake system that eliminates brake feedback while suspension is working. It has beautifully machined thrust bearing floater design that eliminates the side to side play. This can take your riding to a whole new level.
Don't be itimidated by the design of the new rear end. It's very easy to understand and work on. It does take a different style rear wheel hub than prior Stinky models as this is thruaxle rear end. Wheels are readily available. The rear brake mounts with a standard 8" brake mount bracket just like the 2006 Stinky model. These mount brackets are also readily available. The brake system works much like the 2005 Stinky Supreme and the 2005 and 2006 top Stabs.
